Michael Schoettler

Michael Vernon Schoettler, age 31, was born June 27, 1977 to parents Richard “Rick” and Linda Schoettler. Michael passed away on May 14, 2009 in Alvin, Texas. He was a loving son, brother, husband, and devoted father whose friendship with his son was admired by all who knew him. Michael graduated from Alvin High School in 1995 and Texas State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. Michael was preceded in death by his father, Richard “Rick” Schoettler; grandparents, Ed and Vesta Kilgore; and grandparents, Albert and Elizabeth Schoettler.

Michael is survived by his son Aiden Schoettler of Alvin; wife Nicole Schoettler; mother Linda Schoettler of Alvin; sister Kristen Schoettler of Alvin; and numerous other beloved family and friends.

A visitation was held Sunday, May 17, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Froberg Funeral Home at Oak Park Chapel. A rosary was held at 7:00 p.m. with Deacon Dale Hayden and Rev. Nan Doerr officiating.

A Funeral Mass was held Monday, May 18, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Fr. Jack Franco, O.M.I. officiating and Deacon Jim Carlisle assisting. Graveside services were held at Oak Park Cemetery following the Mass.

Pallbearers were: Andy Boren, Matt Boren, Cody Boren, Ross Cates, Kerry Ercums, Matt Ivey, Todd Slater and Bobbie Kennedy. Honorary pallbearers were: Ricky Garcia, Dave Talbert, Anthony Huey Carlisle and Craig Geaslen.

Michael was a gift from God and touched the lives of everyone who knew him. Michael shared his love of God and unwavering spirituality with his son Aiden.

What a beautiful difference one single life made.
